Japanese（以下、SJと略す）は、日本語教育関係者のごく一部に知られているに過ぎず、太平洋戦争後の日本語教育に、どのような影響を与えてきたかということは評価がなされないまま今日に至っている。","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"　SJは、アメリカの対日戦略の一つとして作成された。話し言葉の習得を目的とした教科書で、軍人教育に使われた。最初に出版されたのは、1945年のArmed Edition版であるが、同じ年にPublic Edition版、1972年に復刻版が出版されている。Armed Edition版、Public Edition版にはレコードが付いており、復刻版にはカセットテープが付いていた。2015年10月現在、そのテープが全巻揃っているのは、国内では国際日本文化研究センター（以下、日文研と略す）だけである。","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"　今回、調査の結果、SJの復刻版に付いているカセットテープに収録されている音声は、1945年に最初に出版されたArmed Edition版に付いていた12インチのSPレコード24枚に収録されている音声と全く同一のものである可能性が高まった。日文研所蔵のカセットテープは、日本語教育史を考える上で、また当時の日本語の音声を知る上でも、極めて貴重な音声データである。","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"},{"subitem_description":"　本稿ではこの音声データをもとに、SJのレコードがどのような目的で、どう使用されることを意図して作成されたのか考察した。また、レコード収録を行った日系人インフォーマントの話す日本語の特徴を検討した。その過程で、ブロックのインフォーマントの一人として、SJ作成に尽力した日系人、羽根幹三（Mikizo
